Training workshop on the Narrative of Hope ballots, in therapeutic work with families of missing persons, abductees and returning hostages

Lecturer: Galit Itzhaki Drezin

Friday, February 7, 2025, between 8:00 AM and 1:45 PM.

background:

The events of October 7th and the "Iron Swords" War created a complex reality of dealing with a unique trauma that has not been studied in Israel until now, and the therapeutic experience in it is limited. Veteran therapists from all over the country, trauma specialists and long-term treatment experts in various approaches have come forward for this unique therapeutic work since October 7th.

This training is part of a therapeutic tool in the constructive narrative approach. By working on hard truths, adaptation, and hope, it enables long-term work with individuals, couples, families, and groups who are dealing with a loved one who is missing, kidnapped, or held hostage, a missing person whose whereabouts are unknown, or even a hostage who is struggling with his or her absence and the absence of loved ones.

In this workshop, we will learn about the unique treatment stages for blunt trauma that Prof. Pauline Boss has identified from her many years of work, and which have been translated into therapeutic practice by her and Dr. Sarah.

The cards were created in collaboration with Dr. Sarah Weiland and the MISSED FOUNDATION.

Each participant will receive the Tikvah Narrative Card Set translated into Hebrew during the workshop.

Participation in the workshop is conditional on participation in the seminar "The Narrative Approach to Treating Ambiguous Loss and Narrative Cards of Hope" or on watching its recording, which will be sent to registrants after the seminar itself (24.01.25).
